Program Description:
The Norco TRAIN program is designed for experienced divers who are committed to advancing their skills and competing at a higher level. This program is ideal for athletes who aim to excel in regional and national competitions under the USA Diving governing body, as well as those seeking to rank highly in the Colorado High School Athletic Association (CHSAA) state competition.

Additionally, Norco TRAIN caters to athletes with aspirations to compete in NCAA diving after high school. Our coaches work closely with these athletes to enhance their college recruiting visibility, leveraging their extensive experience and national network.

The name ‘Norco TRAIN’ reflects the mindset required of each athlete. Every practice, drill, dive, and competition (whether a practice meet or a competitive one) is viewed as TRAINING—not just practice. Athletes are expected to embrace the program fully, following coaches' instructions and adhering to a goal-oriented approach. Success in this program depends on the synergy between the coach’s guidance, the athlete’s work ethic, and their coachability.

Coaches and athletes collaborate to set specific, actionable goals, with tailored practices designed to achieve these targets. Whether the focus is skill development or overall meet-scoring strategies, the Norco TRAIN program takes a comprehensive approach to diving. We dive deep into the details of our sport, including dive nuances, performance benchmarks, and scoring tactics. If you have goals and a dedication to following a structured training program, this is the perfect fit.

Program Structure:

The Norco TRAIN program consists of three key training cycles throughout the year:

  1. Early Season (10 Weeks) – Focused on fundamental development and building a strong base.

  2. Competitive Season (18 Weeks) – Skill acquisition, dive list development, and preparation for competition.

  3. Championship Season (12 Weeks) – Focused on polishing established dives for peak performance in championship and qualifying competitions. This cycle also emphasizes competition scenarios and mental training.

Prerequisites:

  • Athletes must be proficient in executing dives (X01) from each category in the tuck position on both 1m and 3m springboards.

  • These dives must be demonstrated to a coach in one practice or a test-out session prior to program enrollment.

  • A goal-setting meeting with a coach is required to discuss the athlete’s plan for the upcoming season and verify expectations for achieving those goals.

Expectations:

  • Athletes must attend 90% of scheduled practices, with the exception of the high school diving season, where 75% attendance is required.

  • Divers must attend 90% of scheduled meets, as well as all USA Diving national qualifying and championship events, such as Regionals, Zones, West Championships (if qualified), and Nationals (if qualified).
